The District mailed out this newsletter to qualified voters for this bond election.  Qualified voters include customers and property owners who either live in, or own land within the Water Jurisdictional Area of the District.   The bond is for $5,000,000 payable over 20 years for several water system projects that are necessary to keep up with demands in the Meadow Village.  Please click on the links to the left to read the newsletter that has general information about the projects, estimated costs, debt service costs, and voting information.

ELECTION & VOTING INFORMATION

This election to authorize the issuance of General Obligation bonds is being conducted as a "Mail Ballot  Election".  Registered voters who are allowed to vote in the December election fall into two categories:

     1. Registered electors who reside in the Water Jurisdictional Area of the District; or

     2. Nonresident property owners who are registered to vote some other place within the United States and show proof of their registration may vote.  Click the Absentee Ballot Request Form above to download and print the form that you will need to show proof of your voter registration to the Gallatin County Elections Department.
 
Registered Electors Residing in the Big Sky County Water & Sewer District

All residents within the Water Jurisdictional District who are
registered to vote in the Big Sky precinct will receive a mail ballot from Gallatin County beginning November 15, 2006.  Please mark your ballot and return mail it the Gallatin County no later than December 5, 2006.

Faxed in bond election ballots will not be accepted.
 
Nonresident Property Owners Registered to Vote Within the United States

For all Water Jurisdictional Area nonresident property owners, the
only way to vote in this bond election is by absentee ballot. To qualify to vote, owners must submit to Gallatin County individual proof of voter registration in the jurisdiction where they are currently registered to vote in addition to their absentee ballot application.  A link for this form is provided below. Please download it, complete it and return mail or fax it to the Gallatin County Election Department to receive a ballot.  Please complete all 3 parts (A, B & C) of the form to receive a ballot.  Our office recommends that you fax it in to the Election Department to allow enough time to receive a mail ballot, vote and return mail it to the County.

After it has been approved, the election department will mail out an absentee ballot. If you intend to vote, please send in your "Proof of Voter Registration Form" as soon as possible to allow enough time for the absentee ballot to be mailed back to you, and then mailed back to the election department before November 8th.

The county will accept completed application forms for absentee ballots via fax at 406-582-3068, or by regular mail until noon,
December 4, 2006 Faxed in absentee ballots will not be accepted.

Corporate Voting

The president, vice-president, or secretary of any corporation owning property within the District may vote on behalf of the corporation. Contact the Gallatin County Election Department for further information at (406) 582-3060.
