District Board of Director Election Information

In 2009 the District will have two Board of Director positions up for election. The elected terms for Bill Shropshire and Dr. Jeff Daniels expire in November of 2009.  According to Montana law, the Gallatin County Election Department administers this election on behalf of the Big Sky County Water and Sewer District No. 363.  The county will conduct this election as a "Mail Ballot Election".

Three candidates have filed petitions for the two open seats with the Gallatin County Elections Department and will be on the ballot form. These candidates are:

ELECTION & VOTING INFORMATION

This year, the election for District Board of Directors is being conducted as a "
Mail Ballot Election". 
 
 
Registered Electors Residing in the Big Sky County Water & Sewer District

All residents within the District who are
registered to vote in the Big Sky precinct should receive a ballot from the Gallatin County election office.  The Gallatin County Election Department will mail a ballot on October 9, 2009 to all residents within the District who are active registered voters. If you have not received your ballot by October 16th, please call the Gallatin County Election office at 406-582-3060.

The county will accept completed application forms for absentee ballots via fax at 406-582-3068, or by regular mail until noon, November 5th.  Faxed in absentee ballots will not be accepted.
 
 
Nonresident Property Owners Registered to Vote Within the United States

For all nonresident property owners, the only way to vote is to request a ballot. To qualify to vote, owners must submit to Gallatin County individual proof of voter registration in the jurisdiction where they are currently registered to vote in addition to their ballot application. A link to the proof of registration form is provided below. Please mail or fax the completed form to the Gallatin County Election Department.

After it has been approved, the election department will mail out a ballot. If you intend to vote, please send in your "Proof of Voter Registration Form" as soon as possible to allow enough time for the ballot to be mailed back to you, and then mailed back to the election department before November 3rd.

Corporate Voting

The president, vice-president, or secretary of any corporation owning property within the District may vote on behalf of the corporation. Contact the Gallatin County Election Department for further information at (406) 582-3060.
