So far, since adding 2 more filters, the filtration
system has been working very well. The system was re-programmed to
improve the backwash cycles. The system ran 177,000 gallons through
it since Friday’s 2/17 start-up and the tank water looks very good
so far. Pure Water Technologies reported that "the water now coming
out of the tank is the best they have every seen". The water
clarity from the water tank should continue to improve as water is
drawn down and replaced with new filtered water. Each filter will
backwash every 7500 gallons. Currently the water flow through the
system is averaging around 21 gallons per minute (gpm) or 30,000
gallons per day.

| 2/21/06 | All 4 filters have been running since Monday 2/20. Water produced since starting 4 filters back up has been very good. Turbidity for samples taken on Monday was 2 ppm of suspended solids which is a very good initial result. Pure Water is taking more samples today to check filter performance. |
| 2/16/06 | 2 new filters are being installed today. All 4 filters will be shut off for the night. Pure Water Technologies will be back on site on Friday 2/17/06 to start the treatment system back up. |

| 2/13/06 | Pure Water Technologies reported that they and
William’s Plumbing have completed all of the punch list changes and a
few extra’s necessary for the system to perform properly. The system
was started up on Friday 2/10/06 with very good results. The flow
through the system was increased to about 26-28 gallons per minute (gpm)
from 18 gpm. The new backwash pump is working very well by lifting the
filter media about 18 inches, whereas before it maybe lifted 2 inches.
The 2 filters were both double backwashed to clean filter media with the
new pump pressures. The coagulant chemical pump is now being controlled
by a water meter, instead of the flow switch as was the case for the
earlier start-up in December. The coagulant feed is more accurate with
this arrangement and proportionally adds feed based on the amount of
flow through the system. Jar testing was also done on a small sample to
determine an accurate dose rate for the chemical feed pump. The Chlorine
system was also started up again on Friday, 2/10/06 and again on Monday
2/13/06. Pure Water Technology is recommending that 2 additional media filters need to be installed to assist filtration with the higher flow rates that the system has now. The District authorized the installation of these 2 other filter units on 2/13/06. |

Treatment system started up. Ran it for 3 weeks
with mixed results.
The water from the filters was not
very consistent. At times the test samples were are looking
excellent and at other times the samples were still very cloudy.

| Fall '05' | Add and extension to the existing well house and poor new concrete floor to house new filtration treatment equipment. Lay a new sewer drain line from well house to manhole in Pine Cone Rd. The sewer line will allow backwash cycles for filters to drain to public sewer instead of a drainfield as originally proposed. |

As the filters are back washed to remove the clay particles that are trapped in the filter media, the new drain line allows this dirty water to flow to the sewer for eventual treatment at the new treatment plant in the Meadow Village. Original plans included a drainfield for this purpose. The sewer line was deemed to be more cost effective over the long haul and would speed the process for the overall system approval process. |
